Ouattara and O’Shea complete Ipswich’s late rescue against Fulham

Ipswich overturned Fulham’s lead to win 2-1 at Portman Road, scoring twice in the final minutes through Abdoul Ouattara and captain Dara O’Shea. The result leaves Álvaro Arbeloa still without a Premier League victory after six matches in charge of Fulham.

Ryan Sessegnon put Fulham ahead in the 55th minute, striking into the bottom corner from 25 yards after controlling a clearance from Issa Diop. Ipswich threatened before and after the goal, including when Emersonn headed against a post, while Fulham missed chances of their own.

Ipswich manager Gary O’Neil introduced Jack Clarke, Chuba Akpom and Zian Flemming as his side chased an equaliser. After Bernd Leno saved from substitute Sindre Walle Egeli, Ouattara levelled in the 89th minute with a 30-yard shot into the bottom corner. Clarke then delivered the free-kick for O’Shea to head Ipswich in front during the first minute of stoppage time.

Goalkeeper Walton made a late save from Kevin to preserve the victory. Fulham remain in the relegation zone with two points from six league games, while Ipswich’s third win of the campaign moves them to ninth, seven points above Fulham.
