Ipswich overturn Fulham lead with two late goals at Portman Road

Fulham appeared set for a first Premier League win under Álvaro Arbeloa after Ryan Sessegnon put the visitors ahead in the 55th minute. Sessegnon controlled a clearance from Issa Diop and fired into the bottom corner from 25 yards after Fulham had survived early pressure.

Ipswich threatened repeatedly, including a shot blocked by Diop’s arm and Emersonn’s header against the post. Fulham also missed chances, while penalty appeals were rejected after Daizen Maeda went down following contact with Sessegnon.

Abdoul Ouattara changed the game in the 89th minute with a 30-yard strike into the bottom corner. Ipswich captain Dara O’Shea then headed in Jack Clarke’s free-kick during the first minute of stoppage time, completing a 2-1 comeback before goalkeeper Walton denied Kevin in the closing moments.

The result gives Ipswich a third league win of the season and lifts Gary O’Neil’s side to ninth. Fulham remain in the relegation zone with two points from six matches, seven points behind Ipswich, while Arbeloa’s winless league start reaches six games.
