At least seven Palestinians, including an eight-year-old girl, were killed in Israeli attacks across Gaza on Saturday, one year after a U.S. -backed ceasefire took effect. The Gaza Health Ministry said at least 1,481 Palestinians have been killed and 5,254 injured since the ceasefire began on October 10 last year.
Shahd Abdul-Razzaq al-Najjar was killed by a quadcopter drone in western Gaza City’s al-Jawazat area. In Khan Younis, a woman died from injuries sustained in an earlier attack on Saturday.
The ministry said Israeli attacks killed at least nine people and injured 65 across Gaza in the previous 24 hours, with one additional person dying from earlier injuries.
More than 100 humanitarian, human rights and civil society organizations said Friday that the ceasefire exists only in name, citing continued killings and injuries as well as restrictions on aid, equipment and rebuilding materials. Separately, at least 12 Israeli settler attacks were recorded in the occupied West Bank on Saturday morning. Farmers were beaten and pepper-sprayed, property and phones were taken, homes were attacked, and several Palestinians were detained, with Israeli military forces involved in some incidents.
