SpaceX (NASDAQ:SPCX) now has a supplier for the ground side of its plan to become a U.S. wireless carrier. Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM) said on Wednesday that SpaceX chose its Dragonwing cellular infrastructure platforms for Starlink Mobile's nationwide ground-based 5G network. SpaceX plans to start the rollout in 2027, with tens of thousands of sites deployed over the multiyear agreement. Neither company shared financial terms. SpaceX stock slid anyway. Shares traded near $136 as I write, off about 3% on the day and almost a third under their record close of $201. 80. Does the deal turn Starlink Mobile into a true rival to the big carriers?
