Nike shares have declined during October, extending a difficult year for the sportswear company.
October has produced mixed results for Nike. The stock fell in October 2024 and October 2025 but gained in each of the three preceding Octobers. That uneven record provides no clear basis for determining how the shares will perform through the rest of this month.
Nike’s latest fiscal first-quarter results showed revenue falling 4% from a year earlier, including a 26% decline in China sales. The company also announced layoffs. Elliott Hill has been chief executive for two years, and the business continues to face difficulty returning to profitable growth as shares remain near a 13-year low.
