Iran’s security chief says Tehran has sent peace terms—including ending the war, unfreezing assets and lifting the US naval blockade—to the US via Qatar, as Saudi forces intercept a Houthi missile aimed at Riyadh.
Iran’s top security official, Mohsen Rezaei, told Al Jazeera that Tehran has conveyed its conditions for ending the war to the White House through Qatari mediators. The demands include an end to the war on all fronts, the release of frozen Iranian assets and the lifting of the U.S. naval blockade on Iranian ports.
The Saudi‑led coalition reported intercepting a ballistic missile aimed at Riyadh and foiling additional attacks on the Saudi cities of Bisha, Taif, Farasan and Yanbu. Yemen’s Houthis said they struck “sensitive” sites in Saudi Arabia, including the capital and Aramco facilities in Yanbu.
The United States warned its citizens in nine Middle Eastern countries to exercise caution, noting the potential for rapid escalation of Saudi‑Houthi hostilities. Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is scheduled to visit Tehran, but Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson said there are no plans to exchange specific mediation messages.
Rezaei also reiterated Tehran’s dual stance of readiness for diplomatic engagement and for further confrontation, and said Iran’s nuclear doctrine remains unchanged. The available reporting is limited to these statements and developments.
