Ella Langley canceled her sold-out concert at Tulsa, Oklahoma’s BOK Center on Friday night after receiving what she described as a serious security threat. The 27-year-old singer made the decision about two hours before the performance, citing the safety of her fans, venue staff and team.
Tulsa police said a caller warned that people at the event would face major harm, including gunfire and bombs. Officers searched the 19,000-seat arena several times, including another sweep with sniffer dogs after the call, but found no credible threat. Police said the call disrupted the event for thousands of fans.
The BOK Center said the show could not proceed after considering the safety of everyone involved. Langley apologized and said information about ticket refunds would be provided as soon as possible.
Langley’s cancellation came after a major year for her career. Chart history in September, surpassing Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You, ” and its success helped her win all of her categories at the Academy of Country Music Awards in May.
