By contrast, Christopher Nolan’s holdover epic “The Odyssey” earned the most revenue, grossing $2.3 million on 256,789 admissions from 1,253 screens, accounting for about 30.7% of total weekend box‑office revenue.

The remainder of the top‑ten included “Obsession” in third place with $1 million from 131,467 admissions, “Resident Evil” fourth with $623,228 from 80,779 tickets, “Spider‑Man: Brand New Day” fifth with $214,082 from 33,636 admissions, and anime titles such as “Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of the Mermaid Island” and “The Girl Who Leapt Through Time” occupying sixth and seventh places respectively. Additional entries were the double‑feature “Digimon Adventure & Digimon Adventure: Our War Game!” in eighth, “The Drama” in ninth, and the gambling thriller “Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub” in tenth.

Since its wide release on Sept. 16, “The Intern” has accumulated 403,903 admissions and a total gross of $2.8 million. “The Odyssey” has risen to a cumulative gross of $91.1 million from 11,217,639 tickets since its Aug. 5 launch.
