Fairshake, a crypto‑industry PAC funded by Coinbase and Ripple, will spend $30 million to oppose Sherrod Brown’s 2026 Ohio Senate bid after spending $41 million supporting Bernie Moreno in 2024.
Fairshake, a political action committee backed largely by cryptocurrency firms Coinbase and Ripple Labs, announced a plan to spend $30 million opposing Democrat Sherrod Brown’s 2026 campaign for the U.S. Senate seat from Ohio. The PAC’s spokesperson Geoff Vetter confirmed the intended expenditure and said additional spending would be announced before the November 3 midterm elections.
In the 2024 Ohio Senate race, Fairshake spent roughly $41 million supporting Republican Bernie Moreno and opposing Brown. Combined with other groups, more than $300 million was poured into that contest, and Brown lost to Moreno by about four points.
Fairshake reported a $122 million war chest as of August and is one of several crypto‑aligned groups targeting key 2026 races. Cointelegraph’s outreach to Brown’s campaign did not receive an immediate response. The PAC’s future spending levels and the election outcome remain uncertain.
