South Korea reached the semifinals of the women's volleyball tournament at the Aichi‑Nagoya Asian Games after a straight‑sets victory over Kazakhstan (26‑24, 27‑25, 25‑21) in the quarterfinals held at Park Arena Komaki on Sept. 20, 2026.
Opposite hitter Yuk Seo‑young led the attack with a match‑high 20 points, while middle blocker Jung Ho‑young contributed 10 points and Lee Da‑hyeon added nine. The first two sets were tightly contested, each extending beyond the usual 25‑point threshold, before South Korea secured the third set to close the match.
The win marks South Korea's first appearance in the women's volleyball semifinals at the Asian Games in eight years, since the 2018 Games in Indonesia. The team will face either Japan or Chinese Taipei in the semifinal scheduled for Monday at the same venue, with the opponent yet to be determined.
